Reception & Year 1 βš½πŸ’™

Building confidence, developing skills and preparing children for their next steps in football.

Reception Children

Our Reception sessions build naturally on the skills introduced in Mini Dribblers, while continuing to keep football fun, active and pressure-free.

At this age, we want children to have as many touches of the ball as possible, which is why every child has their own football for much of the session.

Through fun games, challenges and activities, children will develop:

⚽ Dribbling in different directions
πŸ”„ Turning and changing direction
πŸƒ Running with the ball
πŸ₯… Shooting and finishing
🀝 An introduction to passing and receiving
πŸ‘Ÿ Controlling and trapping the ball

The focus is on helping every child become comfortable and confident with the ball at their feet.

Year 1 Children

As children progress into Year 1, we gradually introduce more decision-making, teamwork and game-based learning.

Children will begin playing more 1v1 and 2v2 games, giving them plenty of opportunities to have the ball, make decisions and build confidence in realistic football situations.

Sessions follow 3–4 week development modules, including:

⚽ Passing & receiving
πŸƒ Dribbling & running with the ball
πŸ”„ Turning & changing direction
πŸ₯… Shooting & finishing
πŸ”₯ 1v1 & 2v2 games
🧠 Confidence and decision-making
